Drive With Uber
Rideshare+ Program Overview
Rideshare+ is the second program offered under the “Drive with Uber'' Partnership. The Rideshare+ program is a different program than the current Rideshare Hourly program.
What is Rideshare+?
Cars that are enabled for Rideshare+ (aka RS+) will only be available for booking by Uber Drivers by the Day or Week. Rideshare+ cars will not be available for Carshare bookings. Rideshare+ is offered in limited markets but we are expanding quickly. Check out this Uber Driver article for the most up to date locations.
What is the difference between Rideshare+ and the current Rideshare Hourly program?
- Driver Audience: RS+ cars are ONLY available to Uber drivers
- Booking Options: RS+ cars can be booked by the day or week (not hourly)
- Maximum Trip Length: 28 days (including extensions)
- Minimum Trip Length: 2 days
- Trip Booking Lead Time: Uber drivers can book a minimum of 15 minutes or up to 48 hours in advance of their reservation start time
- Booking frequency: You will only have 1 RS+ trip booked at a time due to the maximum trip length of 28 days and the turnaround blocks that are auto applied
-
-
- This is to allow enough time between long reservations for hosts to inspect vehicles without another trip being booked directly after
- Additionally, this gives guests the ability to extend and continue a reservation if they so choose
-
- Turnaround blocks: A 24-hour calendar block will automatically be applied to each car calendar AFTER the RS+ trip has ended:
-
-
- Although these blocks are applied by default, a host may remove the calendar block prior to the 24 hour set turnaround block if an inspection is conducted sooner
- Hosts should use Getaround’s current “Create a new inspection” process within the app – this allows hosts to take photos and document any damage or issues with the previous trip
- Hosts can add a car calendar block (like normal) if more time is needed in order to check the vehicle post-trip
- Hosts still need to report damages within 7 days of a trip ending, as required by our claims policy
- Although these blocks are applied by default, a host may remove the calendar block prior to the 24 hour set turnaround block if an inspection is conducted sooner
-
- Extensions: Uber Drivers will be able to self-extend a RS+ reservation a minimum of 1 day or maximum of 1 week (unless they call in to customer service who can provide extension support beyond these parameters)
-
-
- Guests that have a reservation at the maximum number of days (28 days) will not be able to extend
-
What are the benefits to enabling Rideshare+?
- Expected Higher Utilization: Since vehicles will only be made available to be booked by the day or week (and no hourly option), utilization will likely be higher compared to the current hourly booking options.
- Simplified Host Operations: Cars will require less frequent touchpoints/inspections after reservations due to longer trip durations
- Repeat Guests: Uber drivers tend to book the same car over and over again once they find a vehicle that works for them
- Earnings Predictability: Consistent pricing and utilization provides you with better modeling and predictability around expected earnings
