Each car on Getaround has a designated home location. A home location can be street parking near a certain address or a reserved private space. The home location, in addition to any other details about your trip you might need, is available on the Trips Page. You can get to this page by clicking the menu icon on the top left of the mobile app and clicking ‘Trips’ or by clicking here on the web.
Many hosts have reserved parking spot to simplify the pickup and return process. Some reserved parking spots are denoted by a purple Getaround sign but some may simply be a private spot. Always check the details in the Pickup Instructions and return the car to the correct location in as good (or better) condition as you found it. Make sure to double check the return instructions to be sure the vehicle was in the correct spot to begin with!
If you are unable to locate the car when you arrive, you can always reach out to the host by calling their personal number which you should have received upon trip confirmation. If you are unable to reach the host please call us by pressing "Help" on the trip page of the Getaround mobile app and we’ll be happy to help.
Getaround cars without a reserved spot may be street parked, meaning that they can be parked within a 0.25 mile radius of the home location. Once your trip starts, you can use the Getaround mobile app on iPhone or Android to find the car's real-time location. When returning you Getaround car, be sure to park it within the 0.25 mile circle present on the map in the app.
Remember that when you return a street-parked car, you need to check the signage for any parking restrictions. You are responsible to park the car in a place that is safe, legal, and free from street cleaning/other parking restrictions for at least 24 hours following your trip end time.
