The key will be located inside of the car. Once your trip starts you can open the car using the Getaround mobile app. The instructions on the trip page will include the specific location of the key in that car.
In some cases the key is not returned to the location listed in the instructions but is still in the car. If you cannot find the key make sure to check places like the glove box, the storage between the seats, or in the visor. Sometimes a key falls out of a lockbox and you may even want to shine a light under the seats. If the key is not present and you have searched the car, please contact Getaround and we will do our best to assist.
If you lose or misplace a Getaround car key during your trip, you will be solely responsible for the costs of replacing the key. This includes the key replacement, servicing, programming, and any/all associated costs in addition to a $100 service fee.
You are solely responsible for the car key during your Getaround trip. You are also responsible for returning the car key in the sun visor organizer or wherever the Host designates in their pickup instructions when you return the car.
