In order to make car sharing work for everyone, cars must be returned to their home location before the end time of a reservation. Late returns can greatly inconvenience the car sharing community as a whole as others are relying on having cars during scheduled times.
If you're going to be late, you can extend your trip using the Getaround app or on the web on your Trips page. If you will be even one minute late it is important to extend your rental to ensure you are not charged additional fees.
If you're unable to extend your trip you must return the car at the originally scheduled end time. Please let us know immediately by calling us via the "Contact Getaround" button in your app if there are any issues extending your reservation.
If you return a car late resulting in an inconvenience to another person, you will be charged the hourly rate of that car plus a late return fine of $50 for each hour the car is late up to $500.
