What if a renter returns my car late?

Renters are responsible for returning the car on time or extending as needed through the Getaround app or by calling us. 

If a renter returns a car late resulting in an inconvenience to another member or to you, we may compensate the owner for each hour the renter is late returning the car. Late return reimbursements are in addition to the hourly rate of the car less Getaround commission. The late return reimbursement is awarded at $30/hour up to $300.

This reimbursement is prorated based on the amount of time the renter is late. For example, if a renter is 30 minutes late, the owner will receive a $15 late return reimbursement plus the earnings from a 30 minute trip extension.
