Loss of use per terms is meant to help Hosts defray the cost of having their car off the platform for repairs as well as offset parking and connect expenses.
When: Beginning on the 15th day of repair until the 45th day of repair or the completion of the repair if it occurs before the 45th day but after the 14th day of repair.
Who: All Hosts who have earned revenue from the damaged vehicle in the 3 months leading up to the loss are eligible. Hosts who have not yet earned income with the damaged vehicle are not eligible for income replacement, however we will help defray the cost of Connect and parking.
Calculation: Select the highest earning month of the last 3 leading up to the accident. Divide this amount by 30 to get the daily loss of use rate. Maximum loss of use payment is $25 per day. Maximum loss of use in any situation is 30 days. Total repair days are calculated by taking the total invoiced hours from a Getaround approved vendor and dividing by 4 hours. Example: 80 Invoiced work hours / 4 = 5 repair days eligible.
Total Loss: When a vehicle is deemed a total loss the Host is eligible for loss of use for the time the vehicle is being evaluated, value determined, and until 3 days post offer of the total loss settlement figures from our insurance partner. The maximum loss of use when a vehicle is deemed a total loss is 30 days. Calculations are the same as above and must be based off actual earnings.
