Getaround is committed to building the safest carsharing community. We are able to automatically run a secure driver record check in real time for every new renter via our integration with the DMV.
We want you to share your car with confidence. To verify renters’ identities, we cross-check driving records with social profiles, such as Facebook, the credit bureau, and 16 other points of reference.
Additionally, we have strict minimum eligibility requirements that all renters must meet before they can rent a Getaround car.
Our Eligibility Requirements
- At least 19 years of age. If you are under 21 years of age, you must have a clean driving record.
- Must have held a license for a minimum of 2 years.
- Have had 2 or fewer minor violations or at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
- Have not had a DUI or drug related incident in the past 7 years.
- Must pass an instant driver record check before the first time you rent.
