Overview
Getaround helps connect Guests with Hosts' cars. We always strive to have hassle-free trips, but sometimes, life happens, and a car is damaged during a trip.
In these cases, Hosts will file a claim, which our Claims team will review. To find more information on the status of their claim, Hosts can use the Claims Manager to see relevant information about their ongoing claims.
Hosts can find the Claims Manager tab in their Host Dashboard's web interface.
Where to find the Claims Manager
To find the Claims Manager, Hosts will need to log onto their Getaround account and select the "Claims" tab in the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the screen.
At this time, the Claims Manager is only available on the web interface. This means that Hosts will only be able to access this tab when they are logged into their Getaround account via a computer.
Claims Manager Components
The Claims Manager is divided into many components that can provide additional information. Hosts can access this information usually either by hovering over or clicking to open a pop-up window.
Sort & Search
We can find three tabs at the top of the Claims Manager window. These tabs allow us to view or sort information:
- ALL: By clicking on the "All" tab, the Owner can see every claim they have submitted, past or present.
- OPEN: The "Open" tab will only show the Host the open claims they currently have.
- CLOSED: Selecting this tab will list all of the Host's closed claims. These have been resolved.
Hosts can also search for a claim by car name or by the license plate.
Claim Status
Each claim has a claim status detailing at which stage the claim is currently. We can find these statuses in the "Status" column on the Claims list.
To find out what a Claims Status means, simply hover over the status. A small information tooltip will appear to explain the meaning of this particular status.
Hovering over the status will also let Hosts know if there are any steps they must complete to move the claim forward.
Details Window
When we click on "View" in the "Details" column of the Claims list, a new window will appear with more specific details about the claim in particular, as well as show pictures and a summary.
Starting a New Claim
Hosts can also start a new claim from the Claims Manager by simply clicking on the pink "+ Add new claim" button found on the top right of the claim list.
